My Powerball scores have slowly been getting worse and worse this year, so about a month ago I decided to take a break. I hardly touched a Powerball for a few weeks, but have started to try and get back on form again, yet my scores are still worse than ever.
I do my normal thing of warming up for a few minutes to get the muscles ready, then try some speed runs, but my muscles just seem so slow. Last night I couldn't get over 10k with the Metal, and only once got over 12k with the 250Hz. It's very disheartening.
Can anyone recommend any tactics? I'm not bothered about not breaking my records anymore, but I'd like to at least be near my best. There were times when I could always guarantee getting over 11k with the Metal and 13k with the 250Hz, but those figures are so way out of my reach at the moment. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

I'm wondering if the heat doesn't help. Plus cycling to and from work might be taking it out of me a bit, and sapping my energy. I might see how things are first thing Saturday morning, (used to often be better in the morning), and I'll have a monster session...see how I get on.
It is irritating though. I just know that when I get my Screamer I'm not going to be able to get that over about 12500. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Im trying a new technique, warming up with edouard tech 90s, because it activates exactly the muscles needed for speed.
Could be benefic in long term....wait and check my records _________________ Help Gyrotek when you buy your Powerballs, use our banner: International, France, Thanks!! |

I might give that a try Obiw4n, thanks. (Do you think it would be the same thing to just go for a speed score and hold it for a few seconds, then maintaining a tight grip relax for a few seconds, then wind the speed up again, and so on?)
I do wonder if my 20 or 30 minute hard warmups I used to do were detrimental. I know that if I tried speed first, and hit perhaps 12300, I'd guarantee 13000 minimum after a half-hour session at a constant 10k. But those sessions might have pumped my muscles too much and slowed them, so that 13000 was actually my MAXimum. Perhaps I should completely forget any "proper" endurance for a while. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Instead of ed Tech, you can try this...
It's almost the same you propose, you give all your speed ability for maybe 15 seconds ( instead of 30s)
you take a break of 1 minute or 2 and you do it again.
Then it's up to you to choose how much of these you have to do before any speed record attempt.
I would advise a warm up of several thousand rotations before to begin this training ( to avoid any risk of tendinitis) _________________ Help Gyrotek when you buy your Powerballs, use our banner: International, France, Thanks!! |

That's a bit like one routine I tried once. I gave 100% effort for as long as possible...sometimes 1 or 2 minutes...until my arm felt like lead. Did it several times, and it did produce some good results after a bit of a rest.
I hope it's not too warm on Saturday, I've got a free day and nothing to do... _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Okay, my "Cold Mode" is officially over. I might have only managed 13263 at the weekend, but this is about my 5th best ever score and the best I've achieved for many months. And, coincidentally, I was 13000 days old yesterday, so rather apt that I should get into the 13000s again.
Let's hope I hit 14000 before I'm 14000 days old though!! _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

It's in the early stages, and the software at the moment is very limited, but it works...more or less. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)
