How do you guys change hands during 90s, I like to hold my pb with the counter in my palm but that means when I move it to the other hand the rotor is facing my hand. _________________ 250hz

Please have a look at my videos. I do it exactly the same way as you do.

Do you not feel it slows you down having the rotor facing your palm though, I'll have a look at your videos and compare.
I keep watching Akis's videos and I just can't work out his technique _________________ 250hz

At first I couldn't get anywhere near the same sorts of speeds with the rotor facing my palm as I could when I have the counter facing my palm. But after a lot of practice it's not that different. I still can't achieve max speeds with a "reverse" grip, but in endurance I can atleast maintain a fairly decent speed.
I don't have the rotor directly facing my palm...I angle it slightly so that the rotor is pointing a little bit away from the curve made by my thumb and forefinger, and so that part of my hand has a slightly better grip on the Powerball. (If that makes sense.) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

| I hold it in both hands for a second and let it go into my left rotor faced down. I sometimes do the other way too. |

Hey armnerd, good to see you on the Gyrotek forums too.
Quite a few people use the loose-grip method when changing hands in an endurance run, and some people even use a loose grip for most of the time when doing an endurance run. We call it the "Edouard Technique", because Edouard was the first one who demonstrated this on video really.
I don't believe Akis does it at all though...he's a "Gripper", and keeps a firm grip throughout his 90s endurance runs. (I've tried to pursuade him to give the Ed. Tech. a go some time, as I reckon he could sail over 21000 revs, but he's reluctant.)
Go to the videos section here and check out Edouard's 17452 run to see it really being put into practice. (I assume the video's here...it'll be at Powerballs.com if not.)
Tim.
P.S. Oh yeah, it's not really very good for the Powerball to allow it to spin freely like this. When it's "in gear" the axle is rolling along the inner track of the Powerball, and isn't damaging. "Out of gear" the axle will be rubbing against the rotor support band, and at high revs this can warp the axle holes slightly I think. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)
