I have copied this from the intro thread, don't hate me for it! I was hoping to get my question answered faster. There's a question extra on the end.

Hi, I'm new to the world of powerballing. I was procrastination from revision looking for some quick impulse buys, then I decided I'd get a powerball. One of the worst 'impulse' buys ever, as I found myself waiting a whole week for it to arrive. Damn internet. It was a blue neon with a counter.
It arrived yesterday though! I was like a kid with a new toy, kept whipping it up every couple of minutes after I stopped, spinning it some more, working on the first mode(i call it endurance mode, as its the only reason I can think of for total revs) seeing how if I could make it to 300(00) revs, swapping between hands as I got tired. There is something strangely addicitve about this little beast. I must have been on it for a combined total of 2-3 hours just yesterday alone.
I kept getting a bit worried though that it was breaking or something, after I went up to 500 revs from the 300, I thought it was getting noisier, but then just thought I was getting paranoid. I haven't done much powerballing today, my hands/fingers/wrists don't hurt as much as I thought they might, except they do a bit when I try to powerball. I've noticed today though, it does seem alot more loose kind of thing, like there isn't as much resistance as before, dunno if it's just broken in or what. I can get it up to 7000 revs, which isn't saying alot considering my best from yesterday is 9000 and of course my muscles are totally knackered. It does look rather awesome in the light though.
However, just to put my paranoia at ease, what sort of stuff should I be weary of in order to keep my powerball in tip top shape, and to avoid wearing it down?

ADDED:I started it up and gave it to my sister for a bit, as she played with it a while yesterday and due to my arms being caned I wanted to see if it was just me or it was in fact different. She said it felt different, kind of smoother. Is this supposed to happen, if not, why has it happened? Can I fix it, and how do I prevent it in future?

Hi Rummy and welcome to this forum. Smile

Some tips to avoid damages on your PB: try to use it without knocking the rotor inside, don´t put oil inside, try to keep it clean (you can clean it with a soft cloth) and when it is running at high speed don´t stop it abruptly, try to slow the speed progressively in order to stop it smoothly.

If your powerball makes a lot of noise at low rpm it could be broken, but if its sound is normal it should be working properly. I have not experienced other problems, so maybe I can´t help you with this.

Hope that it helps.

Regards. Wink

Wearing in is perfectly normal. For lots of good advice on how to take care of your powerball, look here: http://www.powerballs.com/faq.php
