So, what scores can you achieve, (top speed, 30s, 60s and 90s), when you rotate your wrist in the direction you don't normally rotate in? If you're going for a score and the rotor flicks into your normal direction of rotation then the attempt is void.

I got up to about 11800 top speed in "reverse" mode once, but it is very awkward. Last night I did a gentle 1-hour of endurance, (only just hit 500,000 revs with about a minute to spare!), and after each 15-minute time-slot I changed the direction of rotation. Could hardly maintain about 7000-8000 revs in "reverse" mode. But I'll try and post a series of scores on here soon... _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

i got 5000 (30) the other night with my right hand, i will try some top speed tonight.
EDIT:
I got 12837 with my right and 11214 with my left, maybe if i keep working on this reverse rotation my normal rotation will benifit. I guess time will tell _________________ MAX SPEED:

Could very well be correct Mark. Sometimes when I try to push to high speeds I loose control over my wrist movement and the ball switches direction. And in this reverse mode I can't keep up the speed obviously so the ball reduces in speed rapidly. In case you evenly strong in both direction it might be that you can keep the speed even if the ball switches direction

MY GOODNESS!!!!
I tried to do some reverse scores yesterday evening (3 trials each hand).
I only managed a lousy 7150rpm left and a 5200rpm right. How are you guys doing all that. My brains and wrists seem to be programmed for one direction only

Just takes a little practice. After around a year of doing it on way I struggled to get over about 9500 in "reverse". But sitting there spinning it in reverse for ages while watching telly, or being on the computer, starts to re-program the wrist and brain. I definitely managed 11800 a long time ago...this time round I'm up to about 11300. I've managed over 5000 30s with both hands, but at semi-decent speeds I start to lose control after 15 or 20 seconds. When that happens I just over-emphasise the circular motion with my wrist to compensate. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

After the Chat session last night I was doing pretty well with my reverse rotations...11800 with my right and about 11500 with my left. Just seemed to find it easier. Noted down my scores on a bit of paper, but don't have it with me. Will update my post earlier later on, or tomorrow.
I couldn't maintain the speeds for very long though, so didn't try any endurance scores. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Has anyone tried reverse-rotation scores recently? I did a lot of reverse rotation during my 10,000,000 rev counter-clocking experience, and by the end I was finding it just as easy to maintain a good speed in reverse as in normal direction. Still wasn't able to blast up to any particularly high scores, but it just shows that in time you can improve the technique with persistence. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Hi,
I've decided to rest from powerball until summer (I know you don't believe me )
Meanwhile, maybe I will do short sessions of powerball some days of the week for maintenance only. For example, today I tested my reverse rotation capabilities with the powerball.
Here are my current results:
Left = 8196 pathetic!
Right = 12809 not bad
I don't want to test endurance... it's too risky for my fingers.
How r u guys (and ladies ) doing with reverse rotation?
Regards,
Pako. _________________ REGULAR:

I really suck with my left too. I can´t score more thank 8k.
With my right I can score 10k+. |

I, for one, am fed up with not being able to score anywhere near my records. Ages ago I thought about starting again, spinning in reverse, to see how far I got, but I didn't persist. This time I think I might.
I've been spinning the Powerball in reverse just about 100% of the time lately, right from the start, and I've noticed quite quick improvements. At first I couldn't top 10k, but my scores fairly soon rose to over 12k with my right, and nearly 12k with my left.
One evening, spinning the Metal, I got to around 10500 in reverse, then tried spinning it in my normal direction and wasn't able to get over 10300! Still can't do that with the 250Hz, but I'm not far off - at the moment I'm lucky to hit 12500 in normal direction, so just over 12k in reverse is quite good.
I'm going to try some 30, 60 and 90-s endurance in reverse, and will persevere.
One thing's for sure...my technique is a lot better in reverse. I don't think it's because it's a better direction...I just think it's because it's different. My muscles aren't accustomed to the motion yet, and I find it easier to keep my hand and arm very still. I also think I'm going to find it easier to do this "pulsing" thing, just vibrating the Powerball back and forth and not moving it in circles so much.
We'll see. Watch this space for improvements... _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)
