Probably no-one's heard of this, but a friend told me about it the other day.

I think it's something that's really taken off on Children's Television in the UK, but it's very appealing to older people. What you have to do is create a creature, (called a Zook), that can run and jump and push objects.

You start with a single sphere, onto which you can add body parts - torso, legs, arms, flippers - all of which move in certain ways. You have to get it right, adjusting the motion of the body parts, in order to get the creature to actually run or jump.

You can download a 5Mb program from the website, and also see the current records and download other Zooks. (The 5Mb download comes with several example Zooks, which is useful to learn how to make them work.)

The funniest thing I've found is experimentation. Don't read any instructions at first. Just create something at random and then set it going...it's funny.

We could also have a little Zook competition. My record for a Sprint challenge is 109 cms/s so far.

I've heard of it, but thought it was pretty lame. Maybe this'll change my views, all I remember is a bunch of ten year olds shouting at a virtual spider.

Hah! It doesn`t let to register if you`re older than 15. Then I guess there's no use for me to cheat cause i don`t think i`ll find anything fun for me.
