It's weird how you remember things different years in the future. Shortly after I got my Powerball there started a competition at a Kiting forum I went to. I thought it took me ages to get up to 12k, but it turns out I did it quicker than I thought.
I've just looked back on my submission to the first Mini-League, the Flexifoil one, and my first scores were as follows, (the first three being Neons, the rest being 250Hz):
10/24/2004 - 11283
10/25/2004 - 11876
10/29/2004 - 11974
11/01/2004 - 12006
11/06/2004 - 12802
So only two weeks to almost reach 13k. But then things slowed down:

| I would say it's your style holding you back Adrena1in. Look at your 90s score, bloody wtf? I think you do what I do, and speed the ball up slowly, but that tends to make you lose grip. Shock therapy is where it's at. |

Ever since I was a kid I've always had far more stamina than speed. I was one of the slowest sprinters at my school, but one of the top 2 or 3 long distance runners. Perhaps this is why I'm relatively slow with the Powerball. I don't have those fast-twitch muscles that you need for speed.
(Really though, I think it probably is my technique. Been Powerballing so long it's hard to change though.)
P.S. I don't have an issue with losing grip.

Taking the information from James M's spreadsheet, and doing similar lists for Akis, Pako and myself, I came up with this little progression chart.
Not really very interesting, but it's quiet at work and I'm trying to think of something to pass away the hours! (At least me and James have a pretty good little competition going and are quite even.)

That's because he hadn't submitted any scores prior to September 05. I didn't bother to try and get all the graph lines to start at the point of the first submission...me, James and Pako ALL go straight up from zero.

This graph is quite interesting too;
Akis, Pako and Phillipe Joseph all posted very similar initial scores. Jaco progressed the quickest, but he started a bit lower than the others. Phillipe progressed the next quickest, then Akis, then Pako. As long as Pako doesn't stop, like Phillipe and Jaco seem to have, then he could continue to improve at a similar rate to Akis and potentially start catching Akis up.
