Okay, I've discovered I have two counters (or two Powerballs) which display the same counter glitch. Can anyone else see if there's does the same please...
Put the counter onto the Current RPM function, (the one I doubt anyone actually uses!), and spin the Powerball up to around 7000 to 7200 rpm, then keep it at that speed and see if the counter ever drops momentarily down to around 5200.
When I was looking at the weekend, both the 250Hz I had out were doing it, and it was happening about 30% of the time. The Metal wasn't doing it though. I might swap some counters about to see if it's the Powerballs or the counters at fault, but two out of three doing it makes me think it might be quite a common glitch.
It could also sort of relate to the problem Shazam was showing the other day, with the excessively high scores he was getting. If the counter drops down 2000 occasionally at 7000 rpm, what's to stop it jumping UP 2, 3 or 4 thousand at 14k for example? _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Tried and here's a vid:
Counter errors around 7000rpm
You can clearly see the errors here, therefore you're not alone... _________________ Help Gyrotek when you buy your Powerballs, use our banner: International, France, Thanks!! |

Exactly like the video I took. It's the only glitch I've ever noticed, but obviously it's quite common.
Thanks. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Discovered last night it's the counters that are faulty. I took all mine off and checked their part nubmers on the underside. They're all different.
315, 343, 410, 435 and 538.
The last one is the one that came with the Metal, and it was bloody difficult to remove! I can see why The Force had trouble putting it on when he got his!! The first is one of the older 3-function counters.
ALL except the newest one showed the error I'm talking about! _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

And James, when I spin at 7 to 7.5k the counter only occasionally drops down a couple of thousand...it's not like it stays low for longer than a single flash of a score. But I do wonder...if it was possible to spin it at 14k AND keep an eye on the counter, if it would drop at that speed too.
For me it definitely only does it between about 6900 and 7600. Any lower or higher and the score remains pretty constant.
Very odd. I've told Rory and he has mentioned it to the manufacturers. Apparently they did once explain what causes the sporadic scores of 15000+ for people who can't normally get more than about 11k, but it wasn't a very understandable explanation apparently, so he's asked them again. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

It happened to me too.
At that time I was scoring 10k+ and I wrote Rory to ask him if I could recover my real record of 10k+. That was the first mail that a wrote to Rory. |

I didn`t really bother about that. Just deleted the record and I broke my previous record with the next run. _________________ sin cera, Arturas |

In my case I was really worried about the lost of my record because of the 15360 score.
I thought that it could take me a lot of time to have the same record or a new one and I wanted to recover it.
Fortunately I was wrong. |
