You ll be able to analyse the frequency generated by your powerball thanks to this prog and you ll know a score just by comparing with the pitch of known video records.
you need a powerball, videos of 12k to 16k
click points per transform= 4096
Choose the sound source "mike"
You play your unknown score on a media player and you record the sound with freq analyser and a microphone, try to get the finest curves possible.
Then the hardest will be to determine which curve to use. You'll have to get experience and practice before you find everytime the good one.
All you have to do is spin your powerball or play known records videos to match the same high on the graph as the good curve. The curve which appears on EVERY video.
Here's a screen of a record of my powerball at speeds from 8k to about 12k
The "ok" curb is the good one.
I never read any notice on the program, you'll be able to determine a score with a precision of 200 rpm if you're good and have some practice on it...
Just for you , I think you'll like these pictures:
I did mine too, i was curious:

I actually don't have enough time to put everyone's graph here, but it'll be done on February... _________________ Help Gyrotek when you buy your Powerballs, use our banner:International, France, Thanks!!

I was going to say how I don't have a microphone, but I've got one on the webcam in the office...this ought to do.
Not sure what it does when I try to play a .WAV file though. It just plays the sound over and over and doesn't really generate a graph. Guess I need to practice. It would certainly be good to be able to spin up the Powerball and look at the graph and determine roughly how fast it's going, I must admit. Cheers for posting the details about this. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Maybe a nice idea to find a wav-from-mpeg ripper program. That would be convenient. No mic needed then.

Yes, I know. But how do I create a wav from a mpeg/avi file?

Just did a quick search on Google and there are loads of converters out there. I've grabbed several in the past, for converting all sorts of files, and you can usually find one that'll work well.
The latest one I've got is simply called "SUPER" (Simplified Universal Player Encoder & Renderer), but can't create WAV files...I use it to convert my mobile phone .3GP videos to .MOV files. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Thanks for the link. But could you please help me to find the place to click on for activating download. My spanish is not so good
Or maybe you can download it yourself and send it to gyrotek@gmail.com?

That is really cool.
Could you do that for my 17711 video too?

P.S. I think that the flat curve style is best for high scores. Pako is the best in that. _________________ Personal records:

Wow, those graphs are fantastic. And I was right when I thought Akis topped 14k with his right and 15k with his left when he did his record.
Any chance you could run it for my 17141 please?...I still can't seem to get it to work. I've converted my WMV file to a WAV, and loaded it, but the slider gets to the end of the graph way before the file has finished playing...I can capture about 30 or 40 seconds, and that's all, not the entire 2-minute file. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

This program is so cool!!!
Surprising to see that my maximum speed is about one of the lowest of all, but that I seem to maintain a more constant speed than most others.
I think that it would even be very interesting to make these plots for speed records. The reason why i am saying this is that the sound of the pitch for both my 14204rpm record and the 14332rpm record seems to be the same. In other words, I expect the peek to be the same but with a smaller width for the 14204rpm score.
Anyway, I will try to make those plots myself as a first exercise.
Regards,

The Force...let me know if you manage to plot an entire graph for a 90s run, and how you do it. The best I can do is plot about 30 seconds, at which point the slider reaches the right-hand side of the screen and starts again. No matter what I try and set the figures to, I can't get it to plot slow enough.
I, like you, think my 17141 90s score is one of the most even. As I watched it just now the top speed stayed very level all the way through. I think I maintained around 11600 to 11800, losing something like 100 revs per changeover.
EDIT: Here's the best I can do, but it only shows about 40 to 50 seconds. Plus I don't know how to judge what the speed actually is.
