Look inside your 250Hz Powerball. The yellow/green rotor has an axle either side, and on one side it probably has a cylindrical disk, about a centimetre and a half across and 6mm thick. (Neon Powerballs have a magnet on one side, to power the LEDs.)
However, "Old Skool" Powerballs didn't used to have this cylindrical disk...the rotors were symmetrical. I've always found them to be lighter and faster. (That's perhaps because I always use one though of course...others have tried this experiment and found newer ones to be just as fast, if not faster.) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Whats exactly is the difference between old school powerballs and the new ones? Do they look any different? _________________ __250Hz__ (RH/LH)

Apparently they run slightly different as well... but the difference is debateable. _________________ 15yr. old on my way to the top! |

This makes the Old Skool Powerballs, (OSPs), slightly lighter. I think they perhaps produce a tiny bit less torque, and I personally find them easier to spin fast, (but then I've never used a new Powerball a lot to wear it in.) _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)
