When I talked to Rory on the phone yesterday he told me that it is most likely that the photo quality is not good enough. These photos are then ignored. The only problem is (as he recognised himself too) that people are not alerted in case of such a refusal. He was at least planning to make the rules of the game much more clear on the website in order to avoid confusion and dissapointment.

Thanks amigos,
The two times I scored a top 100 worthy score I had a lot of trouble taking a picture of the power ball counter. This last time, I shot about 10 pictures and sent the 3 I considered best, then for a few days I didn't even touch the ball just in case I was warned about the quality. This never happened, I started using my PW and somehow my score was erased.
Now, this could be and oppotunity to be considered the best score in the month if I can manage to score the within 98% of it and capture it on video. Yeah! right, I don't plan to do any recording until I'm on the 14000+ neighborhood on a regular basis.
How do I upload a picture for you to judge for yourself the good/bad quality of the photo.

Hi TLK,
I do not completely understand your problem. I am using a Minolta digital camera with 6.0 Megapixel resolution. However, I use the camera at a 3Megapixel mode and before I submit the photos I make it a 0.75 Megapixel version first in order to reduce the size of the file. I never got complaints about the quality of the photo though. Well, i am sure the resolution is above 600x600, but ok.
And well..about the video...I always have my JVC camera ready when practising with the powerball...I that way..I will never miss a record ;-)
Good luck,

Amigo,
The problem is that the picture is not 100% clear, that is the problem when taking a picture of the PW. The focus always gives me problems, besides any ray of light that hits the ball reflects on the picture. Mine is an Olympus d-580 with 4.0 Megapixel. Photos were shot at 1600x1200 resolution, good enough I believe.

Don't worry about this thread (well you can add me on msn if you like: stevenvandijk74@gmail.com so we can continue conversation offline here).
Anyway, I can give you a hint for taking good digital photos.
Hold your powerball tilted in front of the camera. The flash light won't reflect in the camera like that. Your resolution is quite ok indeed.

I think I've found the best techique that works for me, and that's rest. After achieving 14478 [which for some reason was not posted in the 16 place on the top 100] I tried for at least 3 more weeks to equal or surpass that score, but couldn;t even get to 13800 RPM. I was discouraged after that mainly because my score was not posted, so I stopped training for another three weeks. I picked up the ball yesterday and managed to get 14254 RPM on the second spin (no warmup), then 13950, then 14180, then 13900, I stopped spining the ball because I didn't want to get a sore arm today after that layoff, but now I know I can do better than that, so perhaps next time I'll record it, knowing that I can top the 14k RPM "anytime" and that a recorded score of 14200 can get my 14478 on the board. I hope the video quality from my digital camera is ok for the pw team.
BTW, the 14478 RPM was achieved ten days after a layoff of about 7 weeks.

A rest is certainly a beneficial thing...I just wish I wasn't so addicted, and could rest myself for a couple of weeks, because I've had a sore spot in my right middle finger for a while now, induced by the Powerball. I keep thinking I should stop for a few weeks, then I just go and pick the damn thing up again and start spinning! _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Rest was good, I even felt that I had more endurance than before and that help me keep spinning the ball and get to the 14K. But not warming up caused me to have a sore elbow now.

Hi Daniel,
I just discovered that you are the guy who submitted a score in IPR freaks minileague.
However, I was wondering...are you really working in the field of Intellectual property? I mean..the description of the mini league says it all, right?
Regards,
The Force

I work as a legal advisor for the Intellectual (it's called industrial) property institute in Mexico. I don't work directly for them, since I work for a law firm and do other legal stuff besides and for other people. So I might not belong to your minigroup.

Well...don't worry. Being a legal counsel for the Mexican IP institute is well enough to be admitted in the IPR freaks minileague
So, welcome.
Why didn't you submit your 14k+ score to the normal league?
Regards,
