Btw....Shazam..I've been watching your 14k+ videos and one thing strikes me. You always hold the rotor directed to the palm of your hands when doing the 14k+ records. Can you also achieve the 14k+ with the counter pressed against your palm?
Your technique also has one big disadvantage btw...the PB does not make that much sound in that position. And it is the sound which I like so much, especially at 14k

Makes a fantastic noise at 16k too!!
I really hope the Metal Powerball rotor is going to make a nice scream. The IronPower Metal has no fans or flares on the rotor...it's just smooth, and very quiet.
My old 250Hz is certainily louder than my newer one. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Well, I definitely do not hope that the Powerball Metal will be a silent Powerball. Please let it make a terrible sound. A sound that wakes my neighbours up when I use them at midnight!! Please please please

I tried an experiment once. I got a replacement rotor from Powerballs.com because mine was feeling off balance. With the faulty rotor I drilled little holes in the fans, and chopped them about, trying to make it make a strange noise...but it never really worked. Now I just have a very sad looking old rotor, with all its bits cut off. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

Yes, it must be the fans which create the high frequency.
In principle you would expect the 250Hz sound, but the strongest tones are definitely at higher frequencies.
I have three broken (unbalanced rotors) in my toolbox, maybe i'll do an experiment with it also. Trying to make the most noisy powerball on earth

Yes, as I told in an other post some PB are faster upside down and some are not.
I have an other PB where I managed to achieve 14181 holding it with the counter against my palm.
BTW, the border of the counter hurts my hand and I prefere holding the ball upside down.

I have an idea. You know those little music-boxes you can buy, which consist of a drum with little notches on it, and a series of metal bars, which when plucked by the notches on the drum make a note? Could fit one into a Powerball for a cocophany of noise!!

When I hold the rotor directed to the palm of my hands, it hurts when I reach over 13000rpm, because my skins touches the rotor when I hold the PB tightly. How do you prevent this?
I only play counterstrike- on Friday evenings (between 21:00 and 01:00). Why don't you add me in MSN (stevenvandijk74@gmail.com) and we can make an appointment for playing Counterstrike some day.

I CAN.............But you already know it..
Golden Advice: PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE....and after that more PRACTICE. Actually i do have an idea, try a few weeks of only going for high scores. Everytime you pick up the ball try for a record, then try for a record with your other hand, then go lightly alternating hands, and then go for another record and keep trying till you cant go anymore. This will get you used to going for those high speeds. That is what got me from 14651 to 15188. That worked for me and might work for you as well. Good luck. _________________ MAX SPEED:

I was just wondering...you seemed to jump suddenly from 14651 to 15188. Was this really in one big step or did you make several smaller steps to achieve this.

I find that when I only go for high scores, I don't do very well and am more prone to injury. I've always found that if I do some intensive endurance training I can usually start hitting high scores that are near or above my record. Of course, my record is only 13579 - when you start talking about 15,000+ scores perhaps endurance isn't a benefit.
Take last night :- Nothing to do, so as soon as I got home I started warming up. I did about ten 30s endurance sessions, with each hand, managing 6026 with my right and something like 5950 with my left. Tried a few times to string both together, but couldn't even get more than 10,700 in 60s. So I rested, ate some dinner, then did a few 90s endurance runs, hitting 17,000+ on one occasion. Then the Chat contest started, and while I was too tired to hit more than about 16,400 in 90s, I was warmed up sufficiently to hit 13.1k straight away, then 13.3k, then my new record of 13579...with my left hand...337 revs higher than my previous record with my left hand. To me that's quite a big jump.
Granted, after that 13579 my shoulder started hurting, and I can feel I've pulled something today, but that's probably because I did overdo it last night with all those endurance sessions. But as soon as I'm recovered I'm going to do the same again.
My goal of reaching 14,000 before the end of the year is rekindled! I also hope to reach 18,000 in 90s. _________________ 250Hz: (L/R)

For me it is also true that high speed sessions after a (small) endurance session with a small break after it) provide the best results. In that my muscles have warmed up apparently.
My goals:
14000+ by this weekend
14500+ by the end of the year
17500 (90sec) by this weekend
18000 (90sec) by the end of the year
Realistic? Probably not. But who gives a shit ;-) I just like to dream ;-)
Cheers,
