Hey all,
My buddy here at work and I bought powerballs together, I hurt my thumb after one weekend and maxing out on 11294, meanwhile his very first run with the counter he pulled 123xx
Today about 5 days into having a powerball, 12950 is his high score, and he's suffering from the broken pinky skin syndrome which reduces his grip some. This seems highly abnormal to me! he's still trying all kinds of different gripping techniques and angles but I think I won't catch up to where he is now for 6 months.
How many people out there started off this strong??

Not many, but some just "get it" straight away. Took me about a week to get to 12k, then three more weeks to reach 12960. Four months later I went over 13k.
I knew someone who said he managed 13.5k within about a week, but I never saw proof. A friend of mine had a record of 11.5k after a few days, on a Neon, then he had a go on my non-Neon 250Hz and he hit 12.5k immediately. (I was worried he'd taken my record away, but fortunately not.)
There are people on the scoreboards who've really not been Powerballing long. Bjorn Hjelte only started in December last year I think, and he's already way out ahead of everyone else in the world except Akis.

I actually reached 13K in summer 2005 after maybe 2 months of practice but after that I took a break untill December when I started practicing powerball more seriously and the goal I had then was to reach Top100 within a year. I never thought I'd be 2nd in the world  |

I'd say you're definitely ahead of schedule! Anyone else get ~13k within the first couple of weeks of using your powerball?

If i`m not mistaken, Akis did about 13.5k on his first day. Correct me if i`m wrong. And Mustafva, maybe in this year's december you`ll reach the 1st spot and not only top100 as it was planned! Go for it!

Quite possibly. His first submission to the scoreboards was about 13700.

I'll have my friend submit once he can make it onto one of the lower division scoreboard, he broke 13k yesterday, so hopefully we can keep improving him (while I try and catch up)
Ah well, in the interest of not double posting I'll just edit this message and nobody will see, but pete is up to 13.3k it's about 2 weeks into it. Waiting until he breaks into the top 100 before posting a score

Well, it's week 3 of us getting our powerballs, and he just hit 13669 right and 12935 on the left. I'm going to lend him my powerball and bring a webcam to take some video of him with two hand action in the next week or so!

He managed 13.5 a few times recently, but he only does like 1 or 2 speed runs and usually only when I coax him into it.
His hand hurts after a few of his high speed runs. He's close to 13k on his left hand now though (he's naturally left handed but better in powerball on the right so far) and no pain in his left, so maybe that one will catch up.
He's going to buy a metal around christmas time, and I think he'll do really well on that, but until then, we probably won't hear much from him

So, I told him you asked and that I thought he could break his record for sure, he managed 13350 or so on the left, about 500 greater than his old record, and he got me excited to beat my record, and I managed 13054, and then we started to walk to our cars from work, and he got 13798 on the walk, I got 13077 and then 13094!
he has renewed interest in the powerball now that he has seen he can indeed improve, so hopefully he'll hit 14k real soon!

gyrobeast hit 14151 today on the 250Hz and we even caught it on video, but then I forgot to save the video and my webcam software sucks and doesn't save it. Oh well, I"m sure he'll beat it soon. btw, his first 14k+ run was 14079, but he passed it on the next one!

That's just insane for a beginner!!!
Mind you, Jeremy Goldsmith of the UK has only been Powerballing a couple of months and is on 14400-something!! Some just have it.

At least I'm ahead of him on the Metal and I hope to overtake his 14151 score soon. Plus I bet he wouldn't be able to get near me on Endurance for a while...that really does take time to get good at I think.
I don't know what would push me more, trying to catch the likes of Dennis and Pako and RoLi, or wanting to stay ahead of complete beginners like GyroBEAST!
